Is it different from just using a TV? My 27" doesn't feel so chad no more.

allegedly teevees have much higher pixel response times, possibly don't take displayport but that may be outdated if you have money to burn, i would say put it in the monitor, quality of life increase moving from 3x 24-27" monitors on swivel arms to this thing was enormous

Yes, displayport remains a real divide. I've been spoiled with OLED so any LCD feels sluggish to my refined temperament. On the other hand, going from 12" to 27" is a big lifestyle improvement. Maybe one day I'll be chad enough for a 40"+ monitor.

My PC is hooked up to my 60" TV in the living room and I have the mous eand keyboard on the couch. It's only 1080p though.

I now have a 4k monitor with 1ms response time and adaptive sync, and Intel HD 620 graphics to drive it. Nothing is perfect.
