Why is it considered an unmitigated good to treat value alignment as irrelevant in one's personal relationships?

(I say it as someone who has gotten much less patient about such things as many inimical ideologies have moved from 'weird memetic fauna on the internet' to 'plausible threat')

plausibly I'm just proselytizing my meta values, I guess when I consider what I want in a private companion of any capacity I come back with "interesting" and "thoughtful" and "pleasant" and "kind" public object level views seem orthogonal *at best* to these traits

but if you have a direct preference for political views--(maybe if you make them part of your identity?)--well one can't argue with a utility function

I find that political views are a potent but not completely reliable predictor of shit I find disgusting (like willingness to use direct or indirect application of force to make consenting adults adhere to any sexual behavior standard, or regulate what media one should consume)

and general other such interventionist meddling in affairs of other agents which I find abhorrent. Admittedly, such meddling is typical of a very broad set of political views, so it's not just "cow-moonism versus ancapsu" thing.

If anything, a general belief in desirability of "un-alienated" / "tightly knit" society and need to "help others towards flourishing*", are better predictors of me not liking a person * a notable left-of-center shibboleth strongly associated with meddling busybody shitstains

Exactly. If you shake a lot of dem ancap-rah-rah types, a lot of "physical removal he he he" and "but it is for your own good / soul / community piss" horseshit often starts to fall out. American convergence between conservatism and capitalism is a historical fluke, and methinks
