1Not the way I see it. We need creative tension between regulation (left) and economic freedom (right). We need tension between safety (left) and personal freedom (mostly on the right except for religious influences). We need tension between pragmatism (right) and idealism (left)

I don’t see a right/left dichotomy; rather the collectivist/authoritarian Left vs the normal people who have a wide variety of issues and policies that they debate using normal politics. We don’t need the collectivist/authoritarians at all. They add nothing to public discussion.

I don’t see an identifiable ”right” at all, just various non-Left tendencies (classical liberalism, individualism, libertarianism, conservatism). In my view, ”right wing” is just an epithet the Left uses to describe its enemies. Nazism and Fascism are part of the collectivist/

This is true, but the regular right is against gay marriage, which counts as wanting to have your values and beliefs reflected in the law/authority. And this is what conservatism is mostly about: conserving traditional values, to include the laws that back them up.

2) I, on the other hand, think individual freedom is a form of moral progress (including gay marriage) but I can agree with the right that moral decay is a concern, they are just focusing on the wrong things. To me, Trump is a sign of moral decay for a variety of reasons.

I am libertarian (by value) but I oppose gay marriage as it is a form of coercion and detrimental to society. The flaw with SSM arguments is that they refuse to state what marriage is for except to falsely claim it as a ”right”.
