They don't particularly do things at a smaller scale though, do they? When you think "Charitable contributors," you don't think "Koch brothers" or "Donald Trump" or etc. (I actually can't think of a mainstream right-wing charity contributor besides Thiel.) You think of Gates+co.

And I say that as someone who is extremely cynical about charity effectiveness basically across the board. Most lefty charities are also ineffective. And whatever motivates people to actually think about charitable impact doesn't appear to be exclusively partisan in the least.
