expectation: long term effects of Roe v Wade overturn not huge, result is more like a peace treaty than a new war, everything goes back to the state level as God intended, people get Chill Unless the Left does something really really stupid Don't do anything stupid pls

this is a badargument(tm)
-
ITT everyone pattern matches me to the outgroup boooooooooring
-
honestly there's nothing more annoying than when someone with vaguely contrarian views does that whole thing where they see someone disagreeing with them at all and immediately pattern-matches it to some sort of witch hunt motivated by pure ideological hatred and stops engaging
-
tldr: you're pattern-matching me to someone just pattern-matching and it's annoying

Abortions are good
@eigenrobot. And it may not matter in 50 years when we're all transhuman cyborg demi-gods, but right now it kinda matters. Id rather we cut down on human suffering as much as possible. -
I actually don't care at all about human suffering, I just think that anything that results in abortions becoming criminalized is likely to be only part of a larger cultural swing away from bodily autonomy and towards a very anti-transhuman cyborg demigod bioconservatism
-
partially my opinion but I am kinda anit-transhumanism but in the 'i think it's a bad idea' not as in 'i am going to try and stop it from happening'

yes in the posthuman future people will only get pregnant if they decide to, will have complete control over neurochemistry, etc, etc also(?) a shift towards conservative norms re: bodily autonomy (eg Roe v. Wade repeal) will not harm progress towards this glorious future at all
