Like at the end of Mike Judge's film, Office Space? It's actually pretty hard & dangerous work. Habitat for Humanity is where one can go to learn to appreciate only a couple days a month instead of every day. How do all those grizzled guys keep on building even in middle age?
-
Yeah idk I've kept myself limber and uninjured, bet I could manage a couple decades of it My buddy's a steelworker in his early 40s and he seems to be doing all right

the smart money retires early into another job, basically.

Ask Me About eBay
-
Are you at eBay and how is it
-
oh weird I read it totally differently. like "how can you hock shit you make on ebay instead of flying a desk?"
-
Yeah that's what I meant. I sell random stuff on eBay. Hoping to quit eng in 2 yrs or so
-
what's the best stuff to sell?
-
Anything that I can get for a large (80-90%) discount. It's more about what's good to buy. I buy anything but especially like industrial parts.
-
(Bc you can get them so cheap and although they take forever to sell they sell for good $). Have also bought & sold art, vintage diapers, nicotine gum, coffee machines... Almost anything. Hate clothes.

had a friend in high school who would press sheet metal and build armor sets to sell on ebay. he never went to school to learn any metal work, just continued making knight armor and earning a cool thousand or two every couple of months
-
(when people talk about small business, this is the kinda shit i think about)

Last time I did that I was 16 & inn shape it was hard AF. Granted it was much nearer the equator than you probably are. And it was rubble disposal, pickaxes, wheelbarrow that type of thing. Just be careful what you end up doing. The physical work is not as controlled as the gym.
-
Today with my pudgy 40-year old body I'd injure myself in minutes lmao.
