I used to think that but now I'm not so sure Endgame of eroded state institutions maybe end up looking a lot more like revolutionary France or Russia and a lot less like idk the American West Maybe you only get nice Libertarian societies starting from scratch?

I hear you, and I think that's a valid and good and noble preference and I'm really doubtful you're going to get to that end by eroding state institutions generally compare once more Russia

If you want to preserve stuff, build voluntary alternatives to State functions. Pretend you're a western Roman citizen in 500 AD and plan accordingly.

my hunch is that a lot of this grows out of basic human social conventions, true tends to happen when communities come together of natural disasters need to have a lot of interactions with your neighbors for that though, not sure you get there from general institutional erosion

I'm not going to prop up a fascist death machine that kills millions just so you can have a smooth road bud. I don't think this conversation will be fruitful, I'm out.

I think you're pattern matching me rather than hitting on what I'm trying to get at, but I respect it. Thanks for talking. ^^
