If you accept my family's slightly dubious claim that my dad is the rightful Lord of Bolton but we were usurped five generations ago, I actually probably can. Certainly our claimed ancestry is traceable back to the Norman Conquest.

Alas that's the issue. Our claim IIRC is that the official firstborn son was the illegitimate result of an affair with a domestic servant, and they doctored the records to make the kid appear legitimate.
