cross grip is apparently easier but since i wanted to learn power cleans, the grip you're using is more useful. i just find it very very hard, is all

I'd say be careful with power cleans The power gain seems real and nice, but I stopped doing them after I landed wrong and ganked my ankle a bit Injury risk seems too substantial for something without (in my case) a major practical gain Which, too bad, because they're fun :(

ahhh sucks :( I resolved not to do them seriously until I can get a trainer to make sure I do them correctly
