the most interesting part of this is that the wound got infected and actually drained through my mouth they wouldnt even spot me for penicillin afterward but it was fine, I was 20, I dealt with that shit and it didn't interfere with my other job, which was in fact in Radiation

$200 was a lot of money to me back then and it was kind of a lark my radiation buddy and I had a competition going to see who could pull in the most money doing medical studies on the side

I was a control for a TMJD study. They wanted the tissue for some biochemistry assays IIRC Turned out I wasn't an ideal control because I apparently have mild hypermobility, and I really distressed the staff with how wide I was able to open my jaws

it was actually about like that yeah they had a device that held my jaws wiiide open for a separate MRI part of the study and it looked/felt like that
