Insofar as IQ is processing power, it wouldn’t surprise me if plenty of ancients had comparable to modern geniuses. Insofar as IQ is abstract reasoning, it would surprise me if they did. Their world was simply less populated by abstractions than ours is.

I'm not certain about that. I think many of their abstractions were devoted to spiritual matters and maintenance of ritual.
