    No one "brainwashed" me. My father was a former LFS activist, my lolo a Marcos political detainee from KMU, and my uncles & aunt activists in their own might. All of them rose to bring down the US-Marcos regime. Early on, I understood activism's necessity to enact social change.

    Nobody recruited me. I was a walk-in on my 3rd day in UP. I came from a Catholic boys school with St. Francis of Assisi as patron saint. Throughout our childhood, our role model was a saint who turned his back on a comfortable life to be with the poor.
