Hi, my name is Ehime and I’m an Ifa & Orisa priestess based in NYC! The term ‘egbe’ is used in the orisa tradition and literally translates to ‘group’ in Yoruba. Egbe is used to refer to our cosmic soulmates in the heavens and on earth. Every human has an egbe!

Around 70% of all issues a human faces on Earth (especially in the field of relationships) is because they have ignored their egbe. The power egbe has is on par to our ancestors and our ori (higher self). They have known your soul before you were even born.

They have known you since you were simply a spirit in the cosmos. It’s said that in the heavens we were playing with our egbe as children and enjoying ourselves. All up until the day that decided you had to be incarnated. Before heading to Earth, you’ll promise egbe two things:

1. What you’ll do on Earth 2. How long you’ll be on Earth And you create a pact with egbe in the heavens for them to assist you in accomplishing these things. Just as long as you keep your promise. When we don’t do these things, we run into chaos and obstacles in our lives.

Through Egbe Orun (Egbe in Heaven) we can find our Egbe Ayé (Egbe on Earth), our actual real life soul family. There are many different types of Egbe groups, and they have their own unique characteristics. Like Egbe Iyalaje, the rich businesswomen. Or Egbe Ajaguna, the warriors.

Please learn about egbe and take good care of them. What you think is your ancestors, may just actually be your egbe assisting you. Especially with visits in your dreams! I’d love to teach about this in a class, I’m so passionate about my traditions
