    As a reminder, the only thing Disney said is that they were going to cease giving money to politicians who support homophobic laws. Florida's lt governor said Disney's special district would be restored if they reverse course. Is there a reason we're not calling this extortion?

    Any time Democrats have tried to rescind a corporate or high-income tax break, Republicans have insisted that it’s “a massive tax hike” so I’m really trying to understand why by that exact same logic, Ron DeSantis didn’t just sign the largest tax increase in Florida history

    Wealthy Fox News hosts spent months telling their viewers that the vaccine was ineffective and possibly lethal and that they could be heroes if they defied mandates and take ivermectin to cure themselves if they got covid, probably unrelated who can say.

    Had the people in dark purple been vaccinated, they likely wouldn't been on this chart.

    So much of the style of our current politics is captured here. There is nothing DeSantis can or should do about Twitter's board. It is utterly beyond his authority. He is only talking about it because he's pandering to the extremely online conservative base.

    The point of the law is to bankrupt public schools. If people sue schools for discussing heterosexuality, mission accomplished

    Ron DeSantis' vile "groomer" law is facing a problem. Lawyers challenging the law tell me they think *liberal* parents may bring actions against school boards for discussing heterosexuality and cisgender identity. That could unmask the law's ugly intent:
