Honestly newsrooms should just stop quoting these bullshit responses and say "Bressman declined to accept responsibility for his behavior.' I'm sick of people saying 'that's not who I am' and journalists soberly repeating it like it was a case of ghostly possession.

In this case, perhaps letting people know what he said actually revealed more about him than otherwise. If you look at the responses to my tweets, I'd say it had an impact--just not necessarily the one he wanted.
