I am extremely concerned about HD3822, @GarciaJudithMA. The idea of harvesting incarcerated people's organs or bone marrow for as little a 2 months good time is abhorrent. Please tell me what thought went into this disgusting abuse. malegislature.gov/Bills/193/HD38 #mapoli #maleg

Once I settle into Santa Fe, I’ll be exploring paths in emergency medicine and continuing to freelance, more news on that soon. An especially big thank you to my best friend for making my transition to the southwest as smooth as it could possibly be.

It’s been full of challenges, joy, growth, sadness, and so many rich experiences. Most importantly, I’ve been surrounded by a community of the best people on the planet (you know who you are).

I’ve been struggling with how to share this news, as an Instagram post in wholly inadequate for summarizing the last 6.5 years of my life. I never planned to come back to Minnesota after college, but I wouldn’t trade this time for anything.

I had a french professor who once said if you just did something like going to the supermarket and experienced it fully without the goggles of habit and catégories you would go crazy with pure sense and joy. I think about it all the time. In a way this is all for him.

I recently finished a fellowship at @MPRnews. I had a great year, telling stories across Minnesota and working on the @AngelaDavisMPR show. I'm available for writing, producing and editing assignments, so reach out and here's a thread looking back on some of my favorite projects:

My new prison unit has a dog training program. We have one dog in the living unit. His name is Evan and he’s a golden retriever. I got to pet him last night. The first time I’ve pet a dog in the 19 years I’ve been down. I forgot how soft and loving dogs are. Evan is the best.
