    We ignore almost everything about the major innovation events in biology, from origins of life, first cells to language and consciousness. We just start to shed light on the microbiome and the implications of being holobionts...it's such a long list of key, unsolved problems...

    Dumbfounded. Evolution is one of the most poorly understood concepts in science. That fitness is relative, not absolute, and that it operates on dynamical far-from-equilibrium interacting systems, means it is a major, major challenge equal to any other area of science.
