Heck yeah I am. Heck, I'm majoring in IT, I've done web development and design. I'm sure with help from a bunch of other people, we'd be able to make a much better platform, because at this point, YouTube just needs an overhaul.

The issue is most of these sites are poorly designed and thought out. Take ArtBot for example, terrible search name and honestly really bad web design. Vimeo just looks like it came from a bunker in the 2010s.

There's already a platform being made called "FairTube."

FairTube seems like more of a campaign to work with YouTube rather than becoming an independent platform.

One big problem is trying to obtain and handle the amount of server/storage space needed while being able to offer the platform as a free service. Vidme was nice while it was around though. I liked their tip jar idea, being able to toss spare change at content was neat.

Yeah, that was immediately one of my concerns. Of course, YouTube can afford it, but it wouldn't be so easy on a smaller site. One of the biggest challenges we'd have to overcome, I think.
