        Same. There were a couple of Carolina dogs with *tiny* bits of possible indigenous ancestry but it's so faint and ambiguous that it's hard to tell whether it's a real signal or not at this point.

        Do scientists have any clues as to how the original breeds looked? What were the major differences between the current vs ancient dogs?

        Not really! Larson figures they would’ve looked noticeably distinct but still clearly dogs.
