Hopefully when the strike is over we can have a meaningful discussion about data protection and lecture capture. My reading of the rules was that recordings could only be used against lecturers, not in their favour. I've been recording anyway, but probably won't in future.

I've been advising everyone not to record lectures as long as the current policy is in effect. IMHO (I AM NOT A LAWYER) it is a violation of the data protection principles. But apparently I know nothing about said law.
