Have you read any of Ann Leckie's books? The Imperial Radch books (starting with Ancillary Justice) and most recently "Provenance" set in the same universe.

+1 for Ancillary Justice. Any of Pratchett’s Discworld books or the awesome
#stormlightArchive by Sanderson will help wile away those insomniac hours. - 7 more replies
