research friends: how do you organise your notes/questions? I feel like I've tried a bunch of over-engineered systems(ie org-mode) and they always end up going out of control.

If you find a good answer please let me know... I recently found a TODO list from about 2002 and most of it still isn't done. It's more a Wishful Thinking list. I have been having some success with https://habitica.com/ though, setting daily tasks of "work on <current goal>"

I will! Thank you for the tip. I feel like there's two aspects to the problem - breaking down big projects into smaller chunks, and consistently doing a little bit of progress every day towards them.

My problem with the latter is the tendency to get nerd sniped and forget what it is I'm actually trying to achieve. So a daily reminder helps!

Though right now, the fact that Idris 1 crashes half the time I try to build Idris 2 is as good a daily reminder as any that it needs to self host soon... Not that I'd say this anywhere public, of course.
