Apropos of nothing... Who's on for making "Scottish Dagstuhl" a thing?

You'd have to put it halfway up the Highlands to reproduce that inaccessibility. Or an hour south of Inverness, near nothing.

not really there are plenty of inaccessible places in the Borders, Grampians, West Coast. No need to go to the Highlands nor the Islands....

Good point. But put it on Islay, and peaty single malt can be to Scottish Dagstuhl what Riesling is to the original.

I've always wanted to have more academic events at The Burn... https://theburn.co.uk/academic-retreat/ … We take our students up there every year. It's about as hard to get to as Dagstuhl, which is definitely a selling point!

Also I remember a few years ago we had a 1 day project meeting on Islay, which took 2 days because it was important to leave the afternoons for visiting distilleries.

FP is also not required. For example, the upcoming Idris 2 implementation is really very imperative indeed. Don't tell anyone. I'm certainly not going to be daft enough to say anything about it on the internet.
