In Tokyo? We had an excellent siphon coffee yesterday in Iwamura, 6-Chōme Taito-Ku.

I'm afraid it's from Starbucks. About a pint of it. Having just arrived after about 17 hours on planes, it was a relief to have one familiar thing! (I don't even like Starbucks coffee but I don't care at the moment...)

I regret to inform you about the quality of most of the coffee in Japan, were you planning to extend your streak.

I shall be following the Shinkansen status updates with interest.

Turns out just after I got here the trains broke and some others were held up. They must have got the wrong time on the memo.

I had a good coffee in Kyoto once.

There is a wonderful roaster in the suburbs of Fukuoka that is nice. Japan does nice coffee, just it can be hard to find. Lots of little artisan style shops do nice things. Blink & miss it affair!

Just get the canned coffee from vending machines, so much sugar and coffee that you’ll buzz for hours.
