In the word "us" (the accusative of "we"), do you voice the s, as if it was spelt "uz"? Where do you come from? I know it's "uz" in Lancashire but I've heard it's "us" in County Durham.

“Us” (soft s). But I’m from all over the place. Born in the southeast, secondary school in the north, university and onwards in the south. Whether I pronounce an “a” long or short varies.
