I think I was agreeing with you. Yes; as someone who learned to code on a 9" b&w screen, most things seem luxurious bordering on decadent :)

MODE 2 and 5 were 20 characters wide, iirc. I’m not drawing *any* conclusions from the fact that cpp and go require a vast area of screen real estate, and yet Idris is just fine on a laptop.

I preferred to develop in Mode 7 even if "develop" is too strong a word for what I did :). Idris starts creaking a lot sooner than C++ but that's more about needing engineering effort than what fits on a screen. Still, these are things we need to think about a lot more!
