I went to the pub after work and met a software developer who told me that objects were the best thing ever and laughed at all my suggestions of alternatives. It's an interesting challenge. I wonder if

I should add, not that I think objects are inherently bad... I might think that asserting "[x] is the best thing ever" and laughing at alternatives is inherently bad though...

I doubt my sort of engineer would get stuff done though, on account of my inclination to optimise for amusing myself. Probably best to aim somewhere in between :).

Ah, yes, I can't argue with that. (Though tonight I learned that "can't argue with" is not an obstacle. Did you know that enums are bad but booleans are okay because they're not enums?)
