What kind is immorality is that at NHIF? This many years of existence, collecting mandatory contributions every month and with the level of tech available today?

My family has seen for itself with the Kenyan healthcare. My mom has been contributing since the day those cards were released through her employer TSC and yet we were told nadah! It is a whole scam.

It happened to me I was told the account had not been updated for three months so I assumed it was a failure from the employer (government)

That was the default answer. But when we called to inquire, they confirmed it's valid and updated they system. If we hadn't called, we would have paid out of pocket. Which is deeply unfair to those who depend on NHIF as primary/only insurance cover.

Widespread issue. Someone I know was told to top up his payments to December 2022.

March, the cashier told us we had to pay NHIF premiums till Dec 2022 in order to get service. Whole Renal unit had 4 hours to pre pay premiums before the patient was done with dialysis in order for the NHIF to cover the session. Or pay the 9k for the session. Ha!!
