    People are very often really surprised I had to fundraise for my wheelchair.

    Important to note on that many disabled people have to fundraise for their wheelchairs. Yes, even in the UK. Often the NHS says no to helping us or they provide something unsuitable. I had to fundraise 11.5k for my chair because I can walk in my home.

    It was a dark night, the kind of darkness which is not simply explainable by absence of moon or stars, but the darkness that appears to flow in from somewhere else-so thick and tangible that maybe you could snatch a handful of air and squeeze the night out of it. It was the kind of darkness which causes sheep to leap fences and dogs to skulk in kennels. Yet the wind was warm, and not so much strong as loud - it howled around the forests and wailed in chimneys. On nights like this, normal people would pull the covers over their head, sensing that there were times when the world belonged to something else. In the morning it would be human again; there would be fallen branches, a few tiles off the roof, but human. For now . . . better to snuggle down. ..

    On that note, check out my & twitter feeds *this week* to get a taste of vile harassment, intimidation, lies, & violent threats coming from government-aligned accounts, all emanating from same notorious harassers. has blocked several, thankfully.

    Our bill affirms that MBS will be denied entry into the US. And it requires the administration to certify that the Saudis are no longer engaging in a pattern of intimidating their critics in the US (as required by current law) as a condition for further arms sales.

    Yep. It's how they reproduce their own ranks, and they literally cannot conceive of how anyone might teach and not be trying to indoctrinate.

    Just a reminder that the idea that college faculty can brainwash students is only believed and forewarded by authoritarians who can imagine a position of power working no other way. It’s circular reasoning.
