Despite the weeping and gnashing, the Vatican Precepio is done in traditional Neapolitan style, with somewhat grotesque figures and the crib hidden amongst worldly hustle and bustle, and intentional anachronisms. Depicting the corporal works of mercy is a rather nice touch.
