Please don't take hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) plus Azithromycin for #COVID19 UNLESS your doctor prescribes it. Both drugs affect the QT interval of your heart and can lead to arrhythmias and sudden death, especially if you are taking other meds or have a heart condition.
There are instances in which doctors may use either or both in CONFIRMED COVID infection, but for compassionate use through a carefully monitored process. There is data it MIGHT work but it is very early. DO NOT take ANY drug unless an MD prescribes it and monitors you closely.
I hope that people understand these meds are used by sick people for other infections and autoimmune diseases. If you start hoarding them "just in case" then there will be none left for those who need them NOW. Please act responsibly. There will be enough if we all work together.
Let me just clarify that this tweet was NOT a reaction to the US President's recommendations. It came BEFORE he said them, check the time of the tweet. This was in response to the French study which we were concerned would trigger a run on these drugs. I work in the Philippines.
This is exactly what Trump has told the American people to go out and get this morning. It will cause a panic run on doctors phone lines and offices which are already overwhelmed with ill patients.
And patients who need plaquenil wont be able to get it. My wife is waiting to confirm she can refill her prescription at our local CVS. She has heart failure from complications from Lupus

Ply Azinthromycin isn't a antiviral, why would someone take azinthromycin , a antibiotic, for a virus?
