Ordered some retro console gaming stuff from Ukraine. Shipment tracking ReCaptcha from UKRPOSHTA was almost spot on. Just missing some tanks.

Please don’t buy anything from or back any kickstarter/indiegogo’s from . One of my chargers melted. Only an iPhone and Apple Watch plugged in. Others have had this issue over the last year and they don’t really care. kickstarter.com/projects/hyper

Usually friends take one another to nice restaurants. Good restaurants. You are not a good friend if you take them to Denny’s. (I say this as someone who took to White Castle on the LV strip)

So I tried to think of the most stereotypical American breakfast place I could take @chrismevans to while we are both in the Bay Area… so I took him to a sketchy Denny’s this morning.

Just reflecting... anyone ever remember when people used to complain that the FDA was too bureaucratic and took too long to approve drugs? But now they're not doing enough due diligence...

Loved the Manifesto reference and Deirdré's start with communities back in the early 90's.

Let’s patent this.

There is a lot of truth to this. The blockchains causing increased power consumption led to a power issue in a key datacenter.

Due to extensive lobbying from , we're giving Spaces a try vs. Clubhouse. I can't comment on the terms of the deal but it was enough to give it a go.

The hours are winding down on your chance to own a piece of cDc history... I'd bid on it but I already have 's chewed up gum from 25yrs ago.

Not the greatest experience with . Love the device but sensor died after having it for less than two years due to corrosion. Warranty is 1yr and best option given is to buy a discounted gen 2. Salty for a $200 device.

Dear nurses, "Don't mess with Texas." Also employers who self-insure, can you add an unvaxxed surcharge to our health insurance so we don't pay for unvaxxed like the smoker surcharge?

Breaking: Gov. Greg Abbott announces Texas will be seeking out-of-state health care personnel to help with the latest surge, and he is asking hospitals to voluntarily postpone elective medical procedures.

Fully vaccinated at the party this year. Smaller group this year and missed those that didn’t come but hopefully we’ll see more people back next year. Can’t believe I’ve known many of these people for almost 30 years.

Just got water service back a bit north of Austin. Huge shoutout to for giving me peace of mind that we don't have any burst pipes or slow leaks.

While families are without power, heat, connectivity, and water, my kid’s school system is making remote learning mandatory for kids and marking them absent if they do not show. My kids are stressed already. Local schools are closed. /cc
Also, things are going to get interesting here in central Texas. Just got a boil water notice but a lot of modern stoves, even gas, don’t work without power. No power. No water. Barely any cell signal.
3
Back in the day I remember going on datacenter tours and hearing about how datacenters had guaranteed fuel delivery for generators. Apparently AT&T doesn’t work like that. Cell towers keep going down as the rolling blackouts hit.
2
Now that remote learning is a common thing, local schools are expecting kids to attend class in spite of the fact that we're going through rolling blackouts, no consistent internet, and huddled under blankets to keep warm. Not sure how much more tone deaf people can get.
I've always thought competing on your strengths vs attacking your competition on something may not be the strongest at was the way to do things. Have I been wrong all along?
Dropbox and some other file sharing services don't do malware scanning. Does this mean they all belong in the block lists as well? Seems like a double standard. twitter.com/AdamSurak/stat

A great (autographed) book up for auction with proceeds going to charity. Included are enough stickers to make a sticker book. A great read if you want to know more about the scene and people my mom said I was wasting my time on back in the day.

When that machine isn't being used to win, there is an awesome initiative called that is helping fight covid-19 by hunting for therapeutic pathways in virus proteins. They rely on "citizen scientists" to donate CPU/GPU cycles to aid the search. Please join! cc
