It doesn't work that way. Basically, according to the 22nd Amendment, nobody can serve as POTUS more than 10 years. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twenty-second_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution …
-
-
-
I don't see anything about 10 years there.
-
"The amendment prohibits any individual who has been elected president twice from being elected again. Under the amendment, an individual who fills an unexpired presidential term lasting greater than two years is also prohibited from winning election as president more than once."
-
So Obama has served 8 years. Plus 2 equals 10.
-
It says "elected again". If something happened to Biden, Obama would not be "elected" President. Nothing in this would stop Obama from claiming the Presidency if something happened to Biden. I don't think it will happen, but I'm saying it could.

That would tip “ deranged Donald” over the edge. Let me bask in that thought for a few days.

Such a pleasant & comforting thought! Dreams do come true!!

You are right, Joe Biden isn’t strong enough to win on his own...he does need to ride somebody’s coattails.

#BidenHarris2020 -
I think whoever wins the nomination and whoever comes in 2nd should be a who runs. Hoping it's Harris.
-
Yes! Even I am rooting for the same. Want Sen. Harris to be V.P

LOL I think Obama is enjoying his time off too much now

That is a pipe dream some TV pundit made up. The 12th Amendment says: But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States. Obama term limited. End of story..

I’d rather he win and appoint Barack to the SCOTUS.
-
That’s is right. There will be no First Lady . Would that be a first ?
-
No, the First Lady would be Jill Biden.
-
Obama can't take VP post. VP has to be eligible to step into POTUS seat should that become necessary.
-
The 22nd amendment says "no person elected President. . . . is allowed to be elected more than once more." If Obama were VP and had to be President, he wouldn't be elected as President. Would that count?
-
Yes, because as another person pointed out, the VP has to be eligible to become POTUS and Barack is not.
-
POTUS cannot "serve" more than 2 terms. Only exception made was Franklin Roosevelt during WWII, but that was a special circumstance.
-
Umm, the 22nd amendment was passed in 1947 and ratified in 1951 - after FDR died.
