if bullying caused school shootings, you would see trans shooters, queer shooters, female shooters, POC shooters. bullying does not cause school shootings; entitlement does. and white boys are the most entitled demographic by far.

i don't have a soundcloud, so y'all please buy
@IjeomaOluo 's excellent book "so you want to talk about race". in fact, don't bother jumping in my mentions if you haven't read it.https://www.sealpress.com/titles/ijeoma-oluo/so-you-want-to-talk-about-race/9781580056786/ …Show this thread -
@facebook just took this post off their site and banned me for a week.?! wild.Show this thread -
all the angry dudes in my mentions need to realize i'm just saying the same thing as tyler durden. “We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't... And we're very, very pissed off.”pic.twitter.com/82582L8r4D

the same thing as mr. rogers. "What do you do with the mad that you feel? When you feel so mad you could bite. When the whole wide world seems oh so wrong, and nothing you do seems very right. What do you do?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKy7ljRr0AA …pic.twitter.com/9t6fjhtWxV

I mean... I was raised by women and taught to work for stuff I want... Isn't this what we call a blanket statement? Kind of a very steamy take.

-
nah. It's our culture, and it's shit.
-
That might be -your- culture. I was raised elsewise. I worked for everything I have and did not expect anything to be handed to me and respect women. So thats not -my- culture. I didn't grow up feeling entitled to anything. My children will be taught the same thing.
-
Then you're failing to acknowledge the source of the problem when you're only focused on yourself and not the culture that caused this.
-
No, I was pointing out the blanket generalization of "white boys". Its offensive to be lumped into something I'm not part of. Just as it would be offensive to lump all women into a "they are raised to marry and get someone to provide for them and dig." See the issue?
-
Then you don't understand that we have a massively toxic culture that caters to white boys and it's hurting them. That's the entire point. This tweet highlights a toxic culture caters white boys and you're offended? That's misunderstanding it on purpose.
-
Like this is almost always your replies in debates. "You don't get" or "you don't understand", or putting words in mouths. Even from me simply saying blanket statements are bad. (Which they are. )
-
It's a statement about culture, not individuals...

Does this simple analysis really seem right to you? Do you really think the problem is that easy? First of all, who the hell is promising white boys any of those things? Second, since many don't get those things, why aren't more lashing out with violence?
-
Society glorifies men with guns and the general perceived perspective of them is if something doesn’t go my way, pull out the gun on the reason why. John Wayne, James Bond, etc. these male “lessons” are almost subliminal, but there.
