This awesome tool from just went right next to 's Miseducation database in my bookmarks. You can look at look at racial enrollment changes at *any* public K-12 school in the US from 1989-2016.

My best tool for this is showing people the work that students like has done on facial recognition, on carceral tech, and on tech for women's health. I'm very lucky that my students have been amazing leaders on this topic.

A5) I ask students to think about who technologies benefit and who they harm. It opens more sophisticated analysis than whether a tech is "good" or "bad". It requires context, intent, implementation as well as the core affordances of the tech.

When tech isn't designed with those most vulnerable to prejudice in mind, it benefits those with power or influence already. Making tech isn't used to marginalize others is a difficult battle that needs societal conversations, not more patches or redesigns

Q5: How should educators and students engage with these questions in the classroom? How should communities think about how tech impacts their voice in media and democracy? Are there exemplars you can identify to help us think about these topics?
