On the one hand, this is clearly the actualization of the scenario people had been warning about B1’s stake all along, but on the other this announcement might encourage higher voter turnout

Do you feel B1 isn’t qualified or shouldn’t be allowed to vote? Is the opinion that they will vote with malicious intentions?

I more just feel the system is broken. Giving 1 vote for 1 coin is flawed, especially when a few entities own most of the coins.

There’s been discussion by block producers to figure out a way to curb whale voting so I would be surprised if the system changes. Voting is at 27% right now let’s see how and if that number grows over the coming months.

I can see another scenario. The vast majority is discouraged to vote at all as it happens in many countries where people see no chances to change something with their votes. The difference here is they can leave to another "country". BlockOne haven't create a fair "country".

This could end up being good. There is currently far too much concentration of BPs from China (at least 8 of 21 last time i checked) which is just not necessary. 2 per country max would be good to encourage broad-based community and Developer support from around the World.

That would be less centralized. I worry more about a sovereign trying to shut down these private contracting networks like EOS than anything that Block One can do at this point. One step at a time.
