Under cover of coronavirus, the US and its 'allies' are waging war against China. The racist travel bans and media hysteria are not approved by WHO. China's response to the emergency has been a model - unlike the US whose current flu epidemic has killed 10,000 and isn't news.

The ban on peeps coming into from has now moved to the point where families are being intentionally separated. The definition and wording of who is allowed is not clear cut. This ban was wrong from the getgo.

Sneaky way for to perpetuate “bat soup” slur under pretence of anti-racism a week after it’s been debunked as from Palau, Micronesia (US), not China. “Coronavirus ‘is being weaponised as a way to be openly racist’” Indeed, ⁦

Those outside China, especially in the West, are far more likely to experience anti-Chinese racism than contract . Plenty of anecdotes already. The constant minimisation of Sinophobia as a minor irritant is extremely frustrating & pretends there’s no cumulative impact

What a backflip this morning. It turns out Scott Morrison was wrong on Friday when he said the $1,000 charge for the Wuhan evacuation was in line with evacuations during the Arab Spring, etc. So there'll be no charge.

All the people discounting the anti-Chinese sentiment associated with a seem be forgetting that there’s been a year of at least weekly articles being pumped out about the threat from China. What we see are even more Sinophobic narratives & reactions being normalised

Yesterday, a white man in Toronto publicly berated my poor old mother in downtown Toronto. She was walking around with a scarf over her mouth (which is normal in the winter here) The man started screaming at her and saying that she was “infected” She had to leave the area 🤬

Coincidentally a China travel ban is what Pauline Hanson was calling for yesterday. It feels like Morrison, whiplashed from the criticism he suffers post-bushfires, is desperate to look very serious and in control on coronavirus.

It is sad when I read articles like this and see how Ozzies are feeling scared to go out because of the they are facing as a result of how the is being coined to be a “Chinese virus”. A virus can be contained but racism can’t.

So do only Chinese people get ? Asking for the Herald Sun, which said it was a "Chinese virus". If so, I won't worry. I'm not Chinese! Gotcha. But remember when we used to say a disease belonged to a particular group of people?

If Australians can’t count on your federal govt to come to your aid in a global health crisis, then what’s the point of them? Pay a $1000 or we won’t save you? We already pay taxes. stop screwing up our social contract & do your job

The saying that flying Aussies in to Australia on a “humanitarian” mission is a scam. They know the majority if not all will be Chinese Australians and it’s a way to detain us because of the colour of our skin.

Today my son was cornered at school by kids who wanted to “test” him for just because he is half-Chinese. They chased him. Scared him. And made him cry. I was the same age when I was bullied for being Pakistani. It’s 2020. I thought things had changed by now... 💔

I returned to this morning and this happened as soon as I entered the arrivals hall of the airport. The hype which has turned to over the situation is beyond control. Us looking Asians are now targets of racism.

White nationalism is one of the most corrosive and impactful social forces in the world. It’s as present in Australia as anywhere else (perhaps more so). Our media doesn’t have have the tools to understand it and so ends up amplifying propaganda. It’s been happening for years.
