.@DeanPreston: "DEFUND THE POLICE!"
D5 Constituents: Hi, we are getting robbed. Burglaries are up 100% YoY. We don't feel safe in our homes at night.
.@DeanPreston: Sorry to hear that. Send me an email. [50/50 at best he actually responds].

Do you think that supervisors run the SFPD? Do you think that the DA runs the SFPD? The SFPD is lazy and does not do its job. Where are SFPD in preventing and solving these crimes? Ask London Breed who has total control over the SFPD bc she is mayor in the strong mayor system.

We need data. We don’t know how many arrests SFPD has made. Is the ratio of reported crimes to arrests going up or down? What % of those arrests were charged by the DA? To what outcome? Preston should get the data for D5 and hold the SFPD & the DA accountable.

What percentage of cases brought by the suburban SFPD, given their total discretion in enforcement, would never secure a conviction from a SF jury irrespective of the facts of the case?

That’s the job of the DA. I’d like to see
@chesaboudin data on the number cases he feels doesn’t have enough evidence to get conviction. That’s his job he’s the DA. Why isn’t he sharing the data?1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

There is no evidence that the SFPD has been presenting cases to successive DAs that they've whined won't prosecute. The SFPD is making claims here. They need to substantiate them and then ask the DA why he's not prosecuting. SFPOA has been whining about this for decades.

I know nothing about SFPOA. I’m just a guy who’s in a neighborhood experiencing crime levels never seen before. I’m asking for all the parities who are charged with protecting us to provide data to help us understand why this is happening. Where’s the gaps? How do we close them?

The SFPOA claimed that every DA for the past 30 years was not prosecuting cases they brought yet they never produced those stacks of referrals. The cops should produce their unprosecuted referrals for evaluation to substantiate their claims. Perhaps their arrests are bogus?

I don’t disagree.
@SFPDChief should share his data and@chesaboudin should share his. All I know is what’s happening isn’t working. I expect there’s issues on both sides. I’m not interested in blame. I’m interested in solutions.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
Haven't the criminal courts been closed for trial for almost all of Boudin's term in office?
