The message that is being communicated by the vast majority of these protests is an essential message, is a long overdue message, and is a message that will not be silenced or defined by outliers.pic.twitter.com/OPXR09XMLD

So gather intelligence and enforce against looting if they must. Don't lock down the entire city for the crimes of a handful. That's collective punishment.

We do not have a police force w/ adequate resources to handle a planned, organized mass riot and looting. The curfew enables them to proactively prevent rather than react to crimes. Vast majority of us do not want violence and are willing to accept a minor sacrifice to thwart it.

There is no organized mass riot. There are sporadic acts of break away groups wreaking havoc after the main marches ended in a very small area of the City. No need at all for a citywide curfew. Residences, neighborhood biz are not targets.

Perhaps it’s overkill. But, where you trying to go after 8 anyhow? You’re favorite closed restaurant? Like I said, minor inconvenience for huge help to SFPD trying to maintain order.

The constitution grants us the right to free travel. There is no basis for infringing on it now with respects to looting because looting is so contained.

I’m not ok with contained looting. I would prefer to stop the looting. But, I cannot say you’re wrong if you prefer a hard line on individual rights, even in times of emergency.

Breed declares martial law when boutiques and finance offices are threatened, but declines to lift a finger when it comes to our neighborhoods serving as open air psych and substance wards, actually exempts them from the curfew! Breed hates San Francisco and San Franciscans.
