Strong hint Fisher knows baseball will not even be an entertainment appetizer in Vegas but a bag of Funyuns before an early dinner.

John Fisher reportedly has considered changing the typical home game start time if the A’s move to Las Vegas nbcsports.com/bayarea/athlet

Fisher doesn't come out in public if they're confident they have the votes needed to get this legislation passed. Seeing as how it's not even out of committee yet, this could signal bad news for their hopes in Las Vegas. #Athletics #FisherOut #KavalGhostsMyEmails

I don’t see a path forward in Oakland unless there’s a change in ownership.

Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority CEO Steve Hill says he believes, if A's deal falls apart in Las Vegas, A's would not stay in Oakland and would look to relocate elsewhere.

Fisher and Kaval realized she could be duped unlike the previous mayor, and Thao fell for it. Fisher didn’t respect Thao. Recall that he had to be reminded to call her about the first land deal in Vegas.

One part of the whole A's stadium mess that will stick with me forever: Why Fisher and Kaval told Thao not to speak with the commissioner during their negotiations? abc7news.com/athletics-news

In most cases when a franchise is saved from relocation, like the Seattle Mariners, it’s a special season that buoys the effort. Weirdly, in Oakland’s case, this historically bad 2023 season is beneficial to the cause by showing just how bad an owner John Fisher is.

There’s really no hope. No players to trade for prospects. And if the A’s attempt to call up top prospects, they’re going to ruin them with a losing mentality at the start of the careers.

We are now at the 1/3rd mark of the MLB season: The Oakland A’s have won 10 games all season and are on pace for a total of 30 wins. What an embarrassment. Sell the team if you don’t care. We need owners that love the game and love winning.

My thinking too. Nothing else makes sense here.
Quote Tweet
I’m completely biased, but part of me still thinks reason MLB is letting Fisher/A’s flail through this Vegas plan is so they have one last leverage point to get Oakland deal done. Because otherwise, outcome of A’s “plans” for building in Vegas will be embarrassing train wreck.

In a previous life as a mortgage banker, I worked right across the street from this Old Navy. Anybody else remember it once had an Old Navy-branded sandwich shop inside?

By far, the hottest of several hot resignation letters from Madame DA Pamela Price’s office. You’ll see some of these quotes on future campaign mailers.

The Alameda County DA's office lost another veteran prosecutor. Butch Ford resigned today, telling DA Pamela Price, "Your administration has attempted to silence members of this once proud office in order to hide your transgressions like a thief in the night." His full letter.

We’ve all detailed how much a joke today’s Vegas ballpark renderings are. But from the A’s perspective, most of the people that see this on the local newscast will only see the renderings for no more than 30 seconds and talk about it at their Memorial Day bbq.

Agree. The outfield seating area looks like the old Coliseum without Mt Davis.
Quote Tweet
Why does the field and batter's eye look suspiciously similar to the current coliseum? Because Kaval entered "#Athletics ballpark on Las Vegas strip" into an AI generator and these were the results. Until I see an architect's name, I'll refuse to believe otherwise.

If this legislation passes John Fisher has added at least $380m in value to the team by securing an unattached piece of public funding that can be transferred to anyone for a stadium to be built anywhere in Vegas. Pump then dump.
Quote Tweet
MLB is going to go out of its way to protect an owner who has only been a drain on the league so he can build a shoebox sized stadium in the corner of a parking lot because he’s too broke to build his vision in the Bay Area. How is this right? How does it even make sense?

I’m starting to get the vibe that MLB is using Vegas in the same way the NFL used Los Angeles as a threat for relocation. But where would that put the A’s? Again, Saskatchewan?

A’s community - Do we have any rationale why has not spoken up about losing thousands of jobs to Nevada? Let alone all the construction jobs over the next several years? I don’t understand why our representatives are seemingly just letting this happen to Oakland

So strange that the actual owner of the team isn’t included in a big statement like this. Besides that, every box checked in terms of power brokers. Looks like a done deal.
