SBMM benefits lower skilled players the most, while making it so higher skilled players can’t really just have a chill game with some friends. It’s a weird issue because yeah, you could just say “well why should you be able to just pubstomp all the time”

But a lack of SBMM typically adds more diversity to how games are filled, you’ll occasionally match people better than you but usually it’s just a range of people better or worse, which for people who really love the game and want to get better tends to be a better option.

For two reasons: as the player population starts to dwindle, SBMM tends to negatively effect connections as the game searches further for an appropriate matchup. Also because playing against higher skilled players gives the difficult matchups needed to improve and then lower

Will give you the opportunities to try out the things you learned without forcing you to default to your typical play style. It’s a difficult line for developers and my opinion is that it really only belongs in a competitive playlist, sort of weird to put it in a casual one
