as someone who’s been in the gaming industry for 4 years, i still feel like an outsider sometimes. maybe because i’ve never been one to go to event after parties or do social networking. i’d like to get to know more industry folks but social anxiety is a bitch 
I relate to this pretty heavy. Following folks on twitter and forming micro-relationships still feels like I'm coming off as "networking-guy" and meanwhile I genuinely would love to have friendships with other people that can relate to my line of work's problems :C
