I am officially 6 months into being a game developer. 6 months ago I was not ready. 1 year ago I never saw myself getting out of minimum wage jobs. 1.5 years ago I was so depressed and anxiety ridden I couldn’t go to work some days.

In the last 6 months I have met so many extraordinarily talented people. Artists, producers, designers, engineers. Humans with wild interests in games, music, hobbies. So many people who lift me up on a daily basis.

I haven’t felt a single shred of worry when going into work. My hour and a half commute is the worst part of my day and the best part is walking through the doors to the studio each and every single day.

I’m now in a position in my life to be able to feel security. I will be able to buy my own home one day. I will be able to travel and explore my hobbies. I am able to work and absolutely love my job.

I’m so insanely lucky and grateful to have the bosses I do. They look after me and help me through my depression. They fill me up with courage and they act as parents to me when I have fear.

I’m in the best possible place I could be in my entire life. I can not believe I’m here. There is no way this is real. I feel like I’m going to wake up I truly feel so genuinely fortunate.
