I think my main concern with the announcement is it seems to go all in on Standard, and Standard has been good roughly 15% of the time (basically the past 2.5 months) over the past two or three years.

I don't think we technically know. Early in the closed beta there were some SOI cards on one of the dev streams, but just how much of the set exists is unknown, as far as I know.
I’m imagining it’s what was used internally though. If anything else card data was there for something and I have a hard time assuming they would only add enough cards for the beta and not the whole set. Wishful thinking for sure though
