Starting HRT was a big shift. My reactions to things made sense to me, I felt like I existed in the world normally for the 1st time.

Dysphoria also reduced, even before physical changes- although I still hope it will reduce further my life is better with HRT.

Why do you think dysphoria reduced before physical changes?

I think something was off with me brain-chemistry wise that responded well to testosterone therapy.

Reminded me quite a bit of what I'd been told to expect with anti-depressants, except those never did what they were supposed to for me.

I'm glad you've found something that works for you. Do you think it's possible that T is an anti-depressant in general? I guess I do.

Sure- in fact there's evidence that shows it has that effect. But, that's not really relevant. I wasn't depressed when I started T.

So you're saying it made you less dysphoric about your body, not so much about your mood?

Basically yes. I felt less dysphoric, and I guess calmer although that's not the right word. More sure about how I'd react to things?

I would think being less dsyphoric might make you feel calmer or at least not jittery?
