I hate that when I have a great idea before anyone else, editors want me to find evidence or authority to back it up. I just want to play!

Let me play with this cool idea! Why do I need to find someone with a degree or dubious study and pretend they got there first?
At least I know the truth: All others but me are dumb and slow and haven't got there yet.
