every argument that I've seen in favor of considering 'terf' a slur also seems to apply equally well to 'racist','sexist', etc.

Trans people don't have a problem with TERFs, we have a problem with being excluded. Pretending TERF is a slur sidesteps that.

Whatever we called the "ideology of hatred, exclusion & vilification of trans people" there's no way trans people would view it positively.

I pretty regularly have TERFs seek me out to mock me, almost always in gendered terms (usually calling me a girl as if that's an insult).
