Harvard study found that "85% of gender nonconforming kids grew up to be comfortable with their own gender" http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2014/07/10/the_transgender_religion_123268.html#ixzz4i7uSMwru …

Disappointed to have wasted my time reading this. Nothing about any studies, just a pile of anecdotes and bias. And from 2014?

2014 is recent enough for studies, there aren't new ones out there.

      Here's an article about a Harvard study: http://lgbtweekly.com/2016/02/09/study-from-harvard-and-yale-shows-positive-psychological-effects-of-hormone-therapy-in-transgender-individuals/ …

The study is a good one and a step forward in this field. It also is not very strong evidence for benefits from hormones.

This is rich. Twenty minutes ago you posted "RCP writer doesn't like trans people, fails to mention authors of study" as a study.

You've asked what my opinions are based on. They are based on reading studies like this one. There is some evidence, but it's not very good.

Right, but I don't think you're in good faith atm. Because you approvingly linked to an article that didn't even provide an author name.

If u approved of THAT, where's yr demand for rigor coming from? Do you think that, if it exists, doesn't have methods one could criticize?

I'm saying that, if the "Harvard study" exists I'm sure there would be avenues of critiquing its methodology. That's the way research works.

But you seem to give outsized weight to evidence that confirms your biases. Such huge outsized weight that you link to something like that.

You've linked to a study with a lot of weaknesses to it and you are still not discussing them. Why not?

In other words, she should have linked to the study. I would agree with that. It would have been easy for her to do.
