I think there are a lot of factors that still need to be weighed, & the opinions and interests of late transitioning adults...

...may not be as relevant or as important to what's best for kids as those adults understandably feel and intend them to be.

However (big caveat), any perspective that starts from a belief that having a cisgender identity is inherently better/more desireable...

...or kids are harmed by exploring gender and better served by not doing it if possible...

...that's a set of starting assumptions based in prejudice. Presumably there are answers, and we should look for them without fear or bias.

Are there other treatments for gender dysphoria that work for some people? Can we decrease the number of teens who need hormones & surgery?

I think we're close to agreeing on most of this. There is an underlying potential for tradeoffs that make me as a trans person nervous.
