Today my conservative friend shared on fb he'd seen hidden figures, & praised it as a reminder of racism & sexism some have had to overcome.

I don't think I've convinced him- it's never that simple- but I think and hope his mind is more open now than before.
I hope so, because I'm temperamentally a persuader rather than a crusader, and I don't always feel confident I'm having any effect.

I respect activists who're more certain, less compromising, & without them I don't think anything changes- but I find I can only be myself.
